The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to say our thanks for the hundreds of thousands of travellers who have booked travel to the country in the coming few months for their continual support, and to assure that the country has increased preventive measures for the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

The data published by https://thewuhanvirus.com shows that Thailand witnessed 0 deaths, 33 infected and 10 of them have cured completely.

Thailand has efficient health survellience systems for controlling of disease

Since the start of this year, Thailand has executed travellers’ health screening with thermal scans at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi International Airports. Besides the Krabi airport, Health surveillance systems are also in place at the Department of Airports’ 28 other airports nationwide including the U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International, Samui, Sukhothai and Trat Airports. All have taken up hygiene measures, including additional cleaning and disinfection with supplied hand sanitisers.

Thai airlines have also executed preventive measures, like health screening of the passengers, increasing hygiene measures etc. Many airlines have also declared charge waiver policies for flight changes and cancellations, credit accounts and reimbursements on booked tickets for flights to high-risk places.

The Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health has focused on the significance of strict hygiene measures at government places, restaurants, hotels, food stalls, and petrol stations. In addition the measures cover public transport, including traveller vans, city buses and fast transit (sky train and subway), ferries, intercity buses, coaches and trains.

The Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, has announced a number of recommendations for the general public and the public and private organisations and also for the operators of public spaces on the coronavirus preventive measures.  Thailand’s tourism and travel actions go on as normal

As a huge preventive campaign is in progress all over the country to obstruct the spread of the 2019-nCoV, all shops, retail stores, eateries, attractions, museums and tourist places are open as usual. All events, conferences, sports activities, and exhibitions are going on normally.

By simply taking normal preventative measures, visitors can continue with their plans as usual. Check the Department of Disease Control’s regular advices for protecting yourself from pneumonia sourced by the coronavirus: always wash your hands with soap and water or alcohol gel; do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with your hands unnecessarily, and must follow the “avoid eating uncooked food, use serving spoons, wash your hands” instructions.
