World Environment Day 2026 was celebrated by ITC Maurya with a number of sustainability-oriented events that sought to raise community involvement, resource conservation, and environmental consciousness.

The hotel showcased its continuous commitment to sustainability in line with the Responsible Luxury philosophy of ITC Hotels. The utilisation of a paraboloid solar concentrator is one of its primary goals, and it employs various resource-conserving techniques such as collecting rainwater, installing water recycling systems, integrating renewable energy sources, providing a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and implementing operational practices that minimise environmental impact.

Its SunyaAqua program, which purifies and bottles water on-site, is still in operation at the resort, which is known as the first LEED Platinum hotel for Existing Buildings in the world and a LEED Zero Water certified hotel. Less reliance on single-use plastics and emissions from transportation are the goals of the effort. In addition, all of the hotel’s eateries employ seasonal and local produce.

In honour of World Environment Day, staff members planted trees in the neighbourhood to increase the city’s vegetation cover and spread the word about the importance of protecting the environment. A unique exhibit called “Paludarium: Where Land Meets Water” was also unveiled in the hotel’s lobby for the first time. In order to bring attention to the importance of biodiversity and ecological balance, the exhibit merges aquatic and terrestrial habitats.
