Lucknow, February 5, 2025 Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh, has directed officials to expedite the completion of all pending tourism infrastructure projects in line with the rapid economic growth of New Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against officials responsible for project delays. He further instructed the executing agencies to adhere strictly to the approved designs while implementing the sanctioned projects. Special instructions were issued for the installation of rough-textured tiles or stones on the Kamadgiri Parikrama route.
The Minister was reviewing the achievements of various sections of the Tourism Department during a meeting held at the Directorate of Tourism on Wednesday. During the meeting, the Minister also reviewed the progress of historical documentation of key tourist sites including historical significance, distance from main roads, infrastructure facilities, and site popularity, for all the 12 tourism circuits in the state.
Discussing the progress in promotion of UP Tourism internationally, the Minister stressed that Uttar Pradesh must ensure a strong presence in upcoming international travel marts. He directed officials to finalize all preparations for the Berlin Travel Mart scheduled for March 4 to 6th and the Russia Travel Mart scheduled between March 18th to 20th. The development work at Maa Vindhyavasini Corridor, Ayodhya, Braj Region, Chitrakoot Dham, Devi Patan, Shukra Teerth, and Naimisharanya Development Councils were also reviewed.
Additionally, Jaiveer Singh assessed the status of festivals organized in the current fiscal year, the progress of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives for Rahi Tourist Rest Houses including the financial performance, the establishment of a tourism police station in Ayodhya, recruitment for vacant and newly created posts, and pending departmental investigations. He instructed officials overseeing investigations to ensure swift coordination from district to headquarters and submit their reports at the earliest.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Mukesh Kumar Meshram, provided comprehensive updates on the department’s activities and issued directives through video conferencing.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary of Tourism, Eesha Priya, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, Sanya Chhabra, Director UP Eco-Tourism Development Board, Prakhar Mishra, and other senior officials from the department.
