Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Rajasthan is actively redefining itself—not just as a tourist destination but as a comprehensive and immersive travel experience. One that blends heritage, culture, faith, nature, and modernity into a singular identity. The state government has unveiled a comprehensive vision to expand tourism beyond Jaipur and its iconic forts, aiming to integrate every district, cultural heritage, and community into the broader tourism ecosystem.

From Rajasthan’s robust participation in global travel marts to the launch of tribal circuits, the development of Amer as an iconic tourist centre, and the construction of war museums in Jhunjhunu and western Rajasthan—these efforts are significant steps toward that goal. According to Diya Kumari, this transformation is not just about tourism branding; it serves as a vehicle for generating employment, empowering women, reviving culture, and strengthening local economies. She believes that this new face of Rajasthan tourism will not only attract tourists from across the globe but also position the state as a model for sustainable tourism.

Rajasthan Marches Towards Holistic Tourism Development
To place Rajasthan prominently on the international tourism map, the state will now ensure a strong presence in world-class travel marts. These efforts aim to showcase Rajasthan’s rich cultural diversity, architectural heritage, folk traditions, and natural landscapes to the world. As a result, the state anticipates an increase in high-quality tourism and a rise in international tourist arrivals.

Travel Marts in Kota and Other Cities
Breaking away from the Jaipur-centric model of tourism, the government plans to organise travel marts in Kota and other cities as well. This decentralisation will help highlight the tourism potential of lesser-known destinations and promote economic activities in smaller towns through tourism development.

War Museums in Jhunjhunu and Western Rajasthan
To preserve and honour the state’s proud legacy of valour, grand war museums will be constructed in Jhunjhunu and western Rajasthan. These museums will not only celebrate military history but also promote defence tourism and inspire the younger generation.

Tribal Circuit to Promote Indigenous Culture
A special “Tribal Circuit Project” will be accelerated to integrate the art, culture, and lifestyle of Rajasthan’s tribal communities into mainstream tourism. The project will incorporate best practices from other states to create an inclusive, self-reliant tourism model.
Developers will transform the historical town of Amer into an ‘Iconic Tourist Hub.’ The city will transform the area into a world-class destination that retains its heritage charm while enhancing visitor experiences.

Enhanced Facilities at Govind Dev Ji Temple in Jaipur
Focusing on faith-based tourism, facilities such as parking, rest areas, and amenities for devotees will be developed at the Govind Dev Ji Temple complex in Jaipur. The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will execute these upgrades in a phased and structured manner.

Major tourist sites across Rajasthan will feature grand light and sound shows that showcase the region’s rich heritage and glory. These shows will incorporate modern technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to offer visitors an immersive historical experience.

This year, the Teej festival will actively celebrate women’s empowerment on a grand scale. The team will set up a special stage at Choti Chaupad for public celebrations and host a two-day women-led fair at Pundrik Udyan. Women will manage all the stalls, promoting female entrepreneurship and cultural expression.

Dedicated organisations will conduct training programs to enhance women’s participation in the tourism sector by developing skills in guiding and hospitality services. This initiative will support economic independence and bring a more personalised experience to Rajasthan’s tourism services.
The authorities will revamp the Tourist Facilitation Centre at Chaura Rasta.

The Tourist Facilitation Centre, located at Chaura Rasta, will be redeveloped into a vibrant cultural and commercial hub. It will feature craft exhibitions, rooftop restaurants, tourist information services, and live artistic performances, creating a dynamic space for both visitors and artisans.

Focus on Cleanliness and Basic Infrastructure
To ensure a clean and welcoming experience for tourists, the Jaipur municipal corporation will strengthen sanitation efforts in the city’s heritage zones. We will construct and maintain public restrooms to meet international hygiene standards.

Rajasthan’s tourism blueprint reflects a progressive and inclusive vision. It combines preservation with innovation, tradition with technology, and local empowerment with global outreach. As it moves ahead with these initiatives, Rajasthan is not just preparing for more tourists—it is building a model of sustainable, people-centred, and experience-rich tourism that the world will look up to.
