The Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to cleanliness, efficiency, and reducing pendency as it prepares to actively participate in the Government of India’s Special Campaign 5.0, scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31 2025. conducted in two phases:

  • Preparatory Phase: 15th – 30th September 2025
  • Implementation Phase: 2nd – 31st October 2025

At a preparatory meeting held on August 26 2025, all Programme August 26 Institutes and Domestic Offices of the Ministry were directed to identify specific targets. The areas of action include:

  • Cleanliness drives, space management, and beautification initiatives
  • Disposal of scrap, redundant items, and e-waste
  • Timely disposal of references from MPs, State Governments, PMO, and Inter-Ministerial consultations
  • Clearance of public grievances and appeals
  • Simplification of procedures and strengthening of record management
  • Track Record in Special Campaign 4.0

The Ministry of Tourism had achieved notable results during the previous Edition of the campaign, including:

  • 19,680 sq. ft. of office space freed
  • ₹14,04,521 generated through scrap disposal
  • 6,826 physical files weeded out and 1,915 e-files closed
  • The Government conducted 447 cleanliness campaigns nationwide.

Commitment for 2025
With Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry aims to build on these achievements and ensure impactful implementation across all its offices. The focus remains on Swachhta (cleanliness), improved service delivery, and greater transparency and efficiency in day-to-day functioning.

By aligning with the Government’s broader vision, the Ministry of Tourism is not only strengthening institutional processes but also underscoring the role of cleanliness and efficiency in creating a more welcoming environment for both citizens and visitors.
