Spread across 32 acres of natural forest and nestled in the Vindhya Hills, Brij Sone Bagh is a
jungle retreat surrounded by ancient Sal forests, traditional tribal villages, and the
2,000-year-old Bandhavgarh Fort that has watched over this land for centuries. A river
meanders through the property, adding to the serene landscape and sense of connection with
nature.

Located just five minutes from the main gate of Bandhavgarh National Park, and easily
accessible via a scenic three-and-a-half-hour drive from Jabalpur Airport, the journey here is as
immersive as the stay itself — taking you through the heart of Madhya Pradesh.

With only five thoughtfully designed villas on 32 acres, the retreat embodies experiential luxury
through space, seclusion, and authenticity. Guests are offered a front-row seat to one of the
world’s most revered tiger habitats — where nature, heritage, and culture converge in quiet
harmony. Wake to birdsong, venture on safaris through mist-laced forests, and return to villas
that blend the region’s folk art traditions with the calming stillness of the jungle.

“ Brij Sone Bagh is a celebration of central India- its forests, its wildlife, and its rich tribal
heritage. Our vision was to craft a space that blends luxury with authenticity, where every villa,
every detail, and every experience tells a story of the land and its people. We hope guests leave
with more than memories- they leave with a deeper connection to this extraordinary region.” –

At Brij Sone Bagh, each day offers an invitation to explore the wild, storied landscapes of
Bandhavgarh at your own pace. Begin with guided safaris through mist-draped Sal forests,
where tigers roam free and birdcalls echo through the trees. For those drawn to slower rhythms,
curated walking trails lead to hidden ruins, tribal hamlets, and sweeping vistas from the ancient
Bandhavgarh Fort.

Nature remains a constant companion — whether you’re tracing animal tracks with a naturalist,
waking to the call of the Blue-bearded Bee-eater, or stargazing from your verandah. The
retreat’s intimate scale allows for spontaneous connections and unhurried discovery, whether in
quiet corners of the café or by the serene poolside.

Deepen your experience with a nature walk through a Baiga village, culminating in a forest
sundowner, or join a live chutney-making session that celebrates local flavors. Take a leisurely
property tour paired with a guided nature trail, or try your hand at traditional crafts during a
hi-tea block-printing session.

Tucked beside the pool and shaded by lush canopies, the Elephant Bar is a breezy hideaway
that comes alive at golden hour — the perfect spot for sundowners, quiet laughter, and starlit
conversations beneath hand-carved elephant motifs.

Evenings unfold gently — perhaps with a poolside dinner accompanied by an authentic tribal
dance performance, or a special meal under the old Jamun tree featuring bamboo-cooked fish
and seasonal regional delicacies.

At Brij Sone Bagh, every moment is designed to connect you with the land, its stories, and its
people — naturally and meaningfully.

A Celebration of Design, Local Craft & Thoughtful Architecture

Designed by Atelier15 under the direction of architect Deepika Sethi, Brij Sone Bagh is inspired
by the raw beauty of central India and rooted deeply in its cultural heritage. Built using natural
stone and timber, the retreat blends seamlessly into the forested landscape with a design ethos
that is minimal, earthy, and distinctly Indian.

Drawing on vernacular traditions, the architecture incorporates local materials such as cane,
bamboo, and metalwork. Interiors are enriched with artwork and textiles reflecting Madhya
Pradesh’s tribal artistry. Each of the five villas is thematically curated around a native animal of
Bandhavgarh, showcasing traditional art styles unique to the region.

Signature spaces — from the forest-inspired diner to the elephant-motif poolside area — bring
subtle storytelling and character to the retreat. Expansive verandas, private plunge pools, and
uninterrupted forest views ensure a constant connection to the outdoors.

Completed in just six months of active construction, the project involved a careful renovation of
existing structures and the addition of thoughtfully designed common areas like the new lobby.

Sustainability & Community at the Core
From the outset, environmental and social responsibility have shaped every aspect of Brij Sone
Bagh. The property’s footprint has been kept intentionally minimal — every tree on-site was

preserved, and pathways were designed to follow the land’s natural contours. Gardens blend
into the forest, encouraging biodiversity while avoiding manicured intrusion.

While structural constraints limited the integration of solar or rainwater harvesting systems, the
use of passive cooling, thermal mass materials, and wildlife-friendly lighting ensures the retreat
remains energy-efficient and naturally temperate year-round.

Brij Sone Bagh is also deeply rooted in its local community. Most of the team hails from nearby
villages, fostering employment and meaningful cultural exchange. Ingredients for meals are
either sourced from the on-site garden or procured within a zero-kilometre radius, underscoring
a commitment to seasonal, regional cuisine.

Materials from original structures were thoughtfully repurposed — preserving both sustainability
and the soul of the place.
