The development and asset modernisation strategy of Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL) includes an announcement that it will invest around ₹1,000 crore in Karnataka over the next five years. This news comes at the same time as the Grand Mercure Mysuru, the company’s flagship property in Mysuru, celebrates its tenth anniversary.

New hospitality projects and improvements to current assets are part of the investment plan, which prioritises sustainable infrastructure development and experiential tourism.

Mysuru has evolved from a tourist hotspot into a thriving commercial and cultural center, according to Nirupa Shankar, managing director of BHVL, who was speaking in the city. The city has played a pivotal role in our plan to revolutionise the way people in South India experience hospitality. The last ten years in Mysuru have been an excellent demonstration of our strategic vision in action.

With 146 guest rooms and Green Key certification, the Grand Mercure Mysuru has become an important part of the city’s hospitality scene since its 2016 opening. In addition to promoting Mysuru as a top vacation spot, the hotel has helped boost tourism, which in turn has created jobs.

“Our growth in Mysuru is built on a foundation of sustainability and community integration,” stated Vineet Verma, Director of BHVL. To us, strategic expansion is all about picking the right markets at the appropriate times, not just about adding room keys.

In a separate development, BHVL has introduced its “Vision 2031” plan, wherein it intends to invest ₹3,600 crore over the next five years to add around 1,700 keys.
