In the past three months, CYK Hospitalities has handled a slew of food and beverage leasing and expansion mandates in a number of Indian regions. The consulting firm has experience with a variety of restaurant formats, including kiosks, quick service restaurants, bakehouses, and standalone locations, and has worked on projects for brands like Boba Bhai, Dohful, Freddo Bakehouse, Harley’s Bakery, Ka Ching, Chai Garam, and Waffle World.

A significant portion of these lease and expansion projects were carried out at Worldmark Gurgaon, Global Foyer, DLF Midtown Plaza, and Airia Mall, among other commercial and retail locations. Organised food and beverage brands are branching out from established metro areas into new urban centers, according to the consultancy.

When choosing a site, businesses are putting an emphasis on operational efficiency, scalability, and audience match, says CYK Hospitalities.

“As organised F&B brands mature, market-specific growth plans are becoming less about securing space and more about securing the right market opportunity,” stated Simranjeet Singh of CYK Hospitalities. Instead of focusing on growth driven by visibility, the emphasis is now on producing value for the long term.

“Consumer expectations differ across locations, and successful expansion depends on how effectively a concept aligns with the ecosystem around it,” said Pulkit Arora of CYK Hospitalities, who is also the company’s director and culinary expert. These days, it’s more important to create formats that can stay in a market than to just open more stores.
