The launch of the Taj Bush Lodge in South Africa’s Greater Kruger region is the latest announcement from Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), which is expanding its brand into luxury wildlife hospitality in the country.
This six-key lodge in Kruger National Park’s Balule Nature Reserve has thatched roofs, wooden accents, and earthy interiors that reflect the local scenery and history, allowing it to fit in with its natural environment.
The first of three five-star wilderness lodges is opening soon in Greater Kruger, and with it, the illustrious history of Taj Hotels and Resorts, which dates back more than a century, says Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and chief executive officer of IHCL. Taj Bush Lodge, Greater Kruger’s establishment has expanded the South African itinerary to include both the breathtaking scenery of Cape Town and the fascinating wildlife found in Kruger National Park, further solidifying the brand’s presence in the country.
Guests can take advantage of the lodge’s wellness facilities—part of the Taj J Wellness Circle brand—and a variety of outdoor and animal experiences, such as guided excursions, boat cruises, traditional South African braais, bush breakfasts, and safaris.
“Our entry into Kruger National Park invites travellers to experience Taj’s world-class hospitality, seamlessly integrated with a proven eco-tourism model,” stated Mark Wernich, Cluster General Manager Operations South Africa & General Manager- Taj Cape Town. In the next months, two more Taj lodges will open in the park, completing the package.
