The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) is pleased to announce its return to Abu Dhabi for the 68th Annual Convention & Exhibition, taking place from September 17 to 19, 2025. This event brings TAAI back to the UAE capital after nearly nine years. At a press conference hosted yesterday at Le Meridien, New Delhi, TAAI’s leadership unveiled details of the convention, outlining a vision that blends business growth with ethical responsibility under the central theme “Business with Goodness.” Speaking to the media, TAAI President Sunil Kumar stressed that while commerce is at the heart of the tourism trade, it is values, empathy, and a sense of purpose that give it true and lasting impact. He noted that the convention will encourage delegates to seek opportunities that are not only profitable but also beneficial to communities and destinations.
“We want delegates to walk away not just with business leads but also with a renewed commitment to doing good for the communities and destinations we serve,” said Sunil Kumar, President of TAAI.
The prestigious Emirates Palace will host the inaugural function, with the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Emirates Pearl serving as the accommodation and business session venue. Delegates can expect high-powered panel discussions, keynote addresses, and thematic sessions that explore opportunities in MICE, weddings, niche travel, and the role of tourism as a harbinger of peace. Running alongside the convention, the India Travel Tourism Expo (ITTE) will create valuable networking opportunities between Indian travel agents and stakeholders from Abu Dhabi and the broader Middle East.
Representing the Department of Culture & Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations, reaffirmed India’s position as a priority source market and expressed enthusiasm about welcoming the Indian travel fraternity to experience the city’s transformation first-hand. In addition to business sessions, the itinerary promises immersive cultural and leisure experiences, including visits to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the innovative teamLab Phenomena. Delegates will also visit the newly inaugurated BAPS Hindu Mandir for a special spiritual address, and enjoy a networking dinner at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi featuring an impressive 360° multimedia backdrop.
The industry’s response to the announcement has been overwhelming, with delegate registrations selling out in under 48 hours and far surpassing the initial cap of 350 participants. Airline partners, including IndiGo, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, and Emirates, are offering attractive travel deals to ensure smooth participation. The return to Abu Dhabi after nine years signals not just a rekindling of old ties but a renewed confidence in the destination’s potential, with the convention poised to strengthen India–UAE tourism collaborations further.
