The beginning of work of NUMAJ, Autograph Collection marks progress in AlUla’s hospitality development pipeline, according to AlUla Development firm (UDC), a Public Investment Fund firm.

Site visiters included UDC Managing Director John Pagano, Royal Commission for AlUla Chief Executive Officer Abeer AlAkel, and other senior leadership members to honour the milestone.

The 250-key NUMAJ Hotel is set to open its doors in 2027. Marriott International’s Autograph Collection Hotels brand will run the resort, which UDC is developing.

Numaj is a significant milestone in our delivery strategy,” stated John Pagano, Managing Director of UDC. During construction, our main goal is to build AlUla into a world-class destination and thriving community by creating high-quality developments that are ready for investment. We also want to make sure that guests have unique experiences while they’re here.

The architects behind Maraya, GioForma, drew ideas for the project from the natural beauty, historical sites, and mythology of AlUla. Nu Ursae Majoris, a star system with historical ties to AlUla, is the inspiration for the hotel’s name.

A variety of corporate and leisure activities, as well as five restaurants, will be housed on the property.

Graywater reuse, locally sourced materials, UV-resistant glazing, water-efficient landscaping, energy-conscious lighting, and alignment with AlUla’s Dark Sky policy are some of the sustainable characteristics that UDC claimed the hotel is aiming for in its pursuit of LEED Gold certification.

In line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the development is a component of UDC’s larger plan to encourage investment, tourism, and economic diversification.
