To offer pilgrimage to the devotees of the places related to Lord Rama, Indian Railways launches a special Tourist Train – Shri Ramayana Express from Delhi on 28th March 2020 during the holy period of Navratras. This  train will be controlled by Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) a Public Service Unit under the Ministry of Railways.

This train will be comprised of ten coaches, out of which 5 Sleeper class non AC coaches and 5 AC 3 tier coaches. The booking will completely be on first come first take basis.

A similar tourism train on this route was launched last year with only Sleeper Class Coaches which was a big success and the reaction of the common people was so amazing that all the seats were booked in only 7 days’ time.

Taking this response into consideration, IRCTC Ltd has decided to promote this train in which some AC 3 tier coaches have also been included with Sleeper class coaches. The Train will start its journey from Delhi on 28.03.2020. Interested tourists may go into this train from – Delhi Safdarjung, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareily and Lucknow.

In a 16 Nights -17 Days tour, tourists will explore the tourists places related to Lord Ram. It is also known as “Ramayana Circuit of India”. In this journey, the train will cover major places such as Ram Janmbhoomi and Hanuman Garhi at  Ayodhya, Bharat Mandir at Nandigram, Sita Mata Mandir at Sitamarhi (Bihar), and Janakpur (Nepal), Tulsi Manas Mandir and Sankat Mochan Mandir at Varanasi, Sita Samahit Sthal at Sitamarhi (UP), Triveni Sangam , Hanuman Mandir and Bharadwaj Ashram at Prayag, Shringi Rishi Mandir at Shringverpur , Ramghat and Sati Anusuiya Mandir at Chitrakoot, Panchvati at Nasik, Anjanadri Hill and Hanuman Janm Sthal at Hampi & Jyotirlinga Shiva Mandir at Rameshwaram.

Tourists will get pure vegetarian meals, lodging and wash and change amenities in Dharmashalas (SL Class booking travelers) / Hotels (AC Class booking Travelers), all transfers & sight-seeing preparations at tourist places by Non AC buses and enthusiastic tour manager of IRCTC who will be travelling with the visitors throughout the tour.

During Navratra period, all the foods to be served to the travelers will be cooked without Onion Garlic. Tourists can also get fasting foods including – Sabudana Khichdi , Fruits , Curd , Potato Chat etc.

There are 360 berths in Sleeper class and 330 berths in AC 3 tier.

Interested tourists may pick SL Class package at a Cost of Rs.16065 Per Person , while AC Class Package  will cost  Rs.26775/- per person.

Additionally, to visit the tourist places of Ramayana Circuit of Srilanka as well as the Indian Ramayana Circuit, an add-on tour to Srilanka has also been introduced with limited 40 Seats only. Interested travellers will be needed to de-board the Ramayana Express Tourist Train on 15th Day at Chennai  i.e. on 11-04-2020 and from there these tourists will be carried on flight in  economy class  by Srilankan Airlines to Colombo while tourists will get a night stay for 3 Nights in Srilanka at Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Negombo. The tourists will pay extra Rs.37800/- Per Person for this Srilankaleg. Foremost highlights of this leg of journey comprises Sita Mata Mandir , Ashok Vatika , Vibhishana Temple and famous Shiva Temple at  Munneshwaram – Munnavari and much more.  Tourists can book Return Journey by flight in economy class from Colombo to Delhi and they will reach Delhi on 15.04.2020 early morning.
