Under the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, the Government of Rajasthan will organise the “Ghoomar Festival 2025” across all seven divisional headquarters on Saturday, November 19, 2025. The festival will begin at 6 PM, celebrating Rajasthan’s traditional royal heritage dance, Ghoomar, with renewed enthusiasm and vibrancy.

According to Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyar, Ghoomar is an integral part of Rajasthan’s cultural identity, and the festival aims to popularise it further among the youth, general public, and especially women.

This year, the main events will be held simultaneously in all seven divisions — Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, and Udaipur — on November 19.

Registration and Eligibility
Girls and women aged 12 or older are eligible to participate. The festival invites participation from school and college students, dance academy members, homemakers, working women, self-help groups, NGOs, and registered clubs.

We will accept registrations in two categories: individual and group.
For competitions, only group entries are allowed, with each group comprising a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 25 members.

Divisional tourism offices have set up help desks to assist participants.
Training and Awards
Detailed guidelines will soon be available on the Department’s website and social media platforms.
The Ghoomar Festival will feature awards in the following categories:
• Best Group Dance
• Best Group Costume
• Best Group Jewellery
• Best Group Choreography
Winning groups in the “Best Group Dance” category from each division will be invited to perform at major state tourism festivals.

This initiative marks a significant step in reviving and promoting Rajasthan’s living heritage, empowering women through culture, and strengthening the state’s image as a vibrant cultural tourism destination.
