Rajasthan has been awarded the title of “Best Wedding Destination in India” by Travel + Leisure in its prestigious People’s Choice Survey Awards. The award ceremony was held on Thursday at ITC Maurya, New Delhi, and Ms Sumita Saroch, Joint Director of the Rajasthan Tourism Department, received the accolade on behalf of the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari expressed her delight at Rajasthan receiving this recognition. She remarked, “This award is a testament to the state’s rich heritage, art, culture, cuisine, and the warmth of its people. It results from the collective efforts of the state government and all stakeholders in the tourism sector.”
Tourism Secretary Mr Ravi Jain highlighted that Rajasthan’s tourism industry is scaling new heights under the visionary leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Commissioner of Tourism Mr Vijay Pal Singh added that the department is committed to developing world-class facilities at tourist destinations across the state. He emphasized that Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari is leading efforts that, alongside Secretary Ravi Jain’s strategic guidance, will help Rajasthan tourism achieve record milestones.
Notably, Rajasthan boasts 68% of India’s heritage properties, making it a leading choice for destination weddings. Beyond Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, emerging wedding destinations such as Pushkar, Sawai Madhopur, and the Shekhawati region are also gaining prominence, further cementing Rajasthan’s reputation as a top wedding destination.
