Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) is a “Mini Ratna (Category-I)” Central Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Railways, Government of India. IRCTC was incorporated on 27th September, 1999 as an extended arm of the Indian Railways to upgrade, professionalize and manage the catering and hospitality services at stations, on trains and other locations and to promote domestic and international tourism.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, organized by IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation), embarks on an extraordinary spiritual journey that unites India and strengthens its traditions. Bharat Gaurav trains circuit is desined with a profound vision to spread the teachings of Lord Ram and promote the values of truth, love, and compassion.

The grand journey spans approximately 11,000 kilometers, covering 8 states, and takes devotees on an unprecedented odyssey to visit the revered 12 Jyotirlinga temples, three sacred Dhams, and the Tirupati Balaji temple. The purpose behind this sacred expedition is not only to commemorate the timeless wisdom of the Ram Katha but also to foster unity and a collective understanding of Sanatana Dharma, the eternal principles that guide the path of righteousness.

To facilitate this spiritual journey, IRCTC has organized two specially designed trains, named Kailash Bharat Gaurav and Chitrakoot Bharat Gaurav. These trains are adorned with vibrant vinyl wraps, showcasing scenes from the Jyotirlinga temples, Dhams and Tirupati Balaji temple, creating a visual spectacle that resonates with the spiritual essence of the yatra.

Onboard these trains, a total of 1008 devotees embark on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel through the sacred landscapes of India. His discourses, which have touched the hearts of millions over the years, delve into the Ram Charita Manas, narrating not only the outer journey of Lord Ram but also the inner journey of the soul. The teachings of the Ram Katha, rooted in simplicity, devotion, and righteousness, are open to all, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, symbolizing the inclusive nature of Sanatana Dharma.

As the yatra progresses, devotees have the unique privilege of joining directly at any place along the journey, fostering a sense of unity among participants from different regions and backgrounds. This inclusive approach aims to bring people together and celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian independence in alignment with the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” the essence of which lies in connecting diverse tapestry and cultural harmony.

The schedule of the Jyotirlinga Ram Katha Yatra is meticulously planned, commencing on 22nd July 2023 when the devotees visit at the sacred Kedarnath at an altitude of nearly 12,000 feet. From there, the spiritual journey continues with visits to various sacred destinations, including Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, Jagannath Puri, Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga, and Tirupati Balaji temple, among others. The pilgrimage culminates on 09th August 2023, at Delhi.

Throughout the yatra, devotees are not only nourished spiritually but also physically, as all attendees are served three meals as prasad, emphasizing the practice of offering food as an act of devotion. The significance of undertaking this pilgrimage during the sacred month of Saavan amplifies the spiritual experience, making it a remarkable achievement for all participants.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train by IRCTC serves as a reminder of the quintessential essence of Sanatana Dharma and the glory of Lord Ram’s name. It stands as a testament to the rich spiritual heritage of India, promoting unity, cultural harmony, and righteousness among its people.
