Marking the completion of 19 years of its operations, on October 26, the preferred airline of today announced several strategic developments in its Journey to become a global airline. IndiGo will be receiving five additional 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in the current financial year under its dry-lease arrangement with Norse Atlantic Airways, which will enable the airline to launch new international routes while strengthening its existing long-haul network.
Daily, direct flights from India to London Heathrow
IndiGo announced today direct daily flights to London Heathrow, starting 26 October 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. The airline will operate a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on this route. These flights will be available for booking soon.
IndiGoStretch now on Dubai and Singapore routes
IndiGo graded the product on select international routes on October 26. Starting August 9, 2025, IndiGo will introduce its tailor-made business product, IndiGoStretch, on flights connecting Singapore to Delhi and Mumbai, as it operates its two-class A321 aircraft on these routes. Similarly, the airline will stretch IndiGo on flights between Delhi and Dubai, starting August 30, 2025, and on flights between Mumbai and Dubai, beginning September 3, 2025.

On August 30th, IndiGo earned recognition as the leading airline in India and South Asia, showcasing its leadership in the subcontinent. It was also named the September 3rd Airline in India & South Asia by Skytrax at the World Airline Awards 2025. For several years, IndiGo has been recognised as the Best LCC in India; the recognition as the Best Airline in India and South Asia is an endorsement of its evolution by travelers worldwide who voted for the airline.

Within just 19 years, IndiGo has established itself as India’s largest and most preferred airline, operating a fleet of 400+ aircraft to service a robust network covering more than 90 domestic and over 40 international destinations, literally giving wings to the nation.
IndiGo unfolded a new chapter in its growth journey by launching long-haul international operations, with direct flights connecting Mumbai with Manchester and Amsterdam. IndiGo also recently signed an MOU with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic to build an industry-leading partnership connecting India with Europe and North America. IndiGo also enhanced its partnerships with KLM and Japan Airlines, making them reciprocal and extending the benefits of seamless travel across their respective networks to IndiGo customers. The airline further strengthened its network by entering into a codeshare agreement with Jetstar, offering one-stop connectivity to 14 destinations across Australia and New Zealand.
Aligned with its growth strategy and long-term internationalisation plans, IndiGo announced that it is converting 30 of its purchase rights for 70 Airbus A350 aircraft into a firm order, thereby increasing its total wide-body aircraft order to 60. The airline also announced its plans to start operations to Copenhagen, Athens, and Siem Reap, in addition to adding four more Central Asian destinations within FY26.
Within India, IndiGo added two new airports to its network – Adampur (Jalandhar, Punjab) and Hindon (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh), in addition to announcing the commencement of commercial flight operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport, with over 18 daily departures to more than 15 cities as soon as the airport launches. Additionally, IndiGo also signed an MOU with Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) for the development of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) infrastructure to support the airline’s expanding fleet.
With an average aircraft age of just 4.9 years, IndiGo has been named the “World’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet” in the category of 100+ aircraft by ch-aviation. Furthermore, IndiGo has been consistently maintaining its on-time performance, topping DGCA reports month after month.
