China Eastern Airlines successfully commenced its direct Delhi-Shanghai service on 9 November 2025, marking a significant milestone in boosting connectivity between India and China. The Delhi Airport Authority hosted a ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony to commemorate the occasion. The event highlighted the strategic importance of the new air link, drawing distinguished officials from both nations.
Attendees included Mr Liu Yonghong, General Manager of China Eastern in India, and senior leadership from InterGlobe Air Transport (China Eastern’s exclusive General Sales Agent in India): Mr JB Singh, Director, and Mr Sunil Talreja, Chief Commercial Officer. The Chinese Embassy in India participated with officials, including Minister Mr Guo Ce, First Secretary Mr Yu Yang, and Third Secretary Mr Che Yu.
China Eastern offers flights three days a week (Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday). This schedule will expand to five weekly flights beginning in January 2026.
