Air India has solidified its commitment to a premium passenger experience by entering into a comprehensive 10-year maintenance contract with the French aerospace leader, Thales. This long-term strategic alliance, built around the “FlytCARE” service framework, is designed to ensure that the airline’s in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems remain at peak performance across its expanding fleet.

The agreement encompasses a total of 57 aircraft, including newly inducted Airbus A350s and Boeing 787-9s, as well as several existing wide-body planes currently undergoing cabin refurbishments. To guarantee maximum system uptime, Thales will provide end-to-end technical support, including hardware repairs and localized logistics, operating directly out of major hubs in Delhi and Mumbai.

Technologically, the partnership marks a milestone as Air India becomes the first carrier in the Asia-Pacific region to deploy the advanced AVANT Up system. Passengers can look forward to a significant digital upgrade featuring 4K HDR displays, dual Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphones, and high-speed charging ports.
