An external evaluation of Accor’s sustainable procurement operations using the ISO 20400 methodology revealed that the company had reached the pinnacle of sustainability in its purchasing activities, the “Leading” level of maturity. Recognising Accor’s achievements in policy, governance, procurement, and supplier engagement, the evaluation brought attention to the company’s endeavours to integrate sustainability into its worldwide supply chain.

The evaluation found that Accor’s charters for responsible procurement and corporate social responsibility and ethics are deeply embedded in the company’s procurement processes, buying choices, and agreements with suppliers. Recognised as well were the clearly articulated priorities, quantifiable objectives, and allocated resources of the Group’s 2026 Sustainable Procurement Roadmap.

The evaluation went on to say that Accor’s Supplier Control Plan, which is put into play all through the contract lifecycle and during tendering, is effective. Supplier compliance, procurement risk management, and achieving continuous improvement across supplier categories were all highlighted by the methodology.

The evaluation also brought attention to the company’s structure for governance, which includes well-defined roles for senior management, the sustainable procurement group, and the regional procurement groups.

This award is the latest in a string of sustainability-related steps taken by Accor over the past few years. In 2023, it co-founded the HARP alliance. In 2025, it won an award for its decarbonisation program at the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards. It also aligns with sustainable hospitality procurement criteria evaluated by EcoVadis.

“Achieving the ‘Leading’ maturity level in the ISO 20400 assessment is a major recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by our procurement teams, category managers and suppliers worldwide,” commented Caroline Tissot, Group Chief Procurement Officer, Accor, commenting on the achievement. This outcome confirms that our policies, resources, and routines are producing observable improvements. In addition, it proves that Accor is at the forefront of creating a responsible, sustainable, and low-carbon supply chain.

The results show that Accor’s sustainability initiatives and procurement rules are having the desired effect on its supplier base and business processes, according to the company.
