In keeping with its long-standing commitment to environmentally responsible business practices, the Novotel Hyderabad Airport has once again been awarded the prestigious Green Key Certification. Not only that, but it was the third hotel in all of India to get the certification, and the first in southern India. Energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and community engagement are some of the critical sectors that must make constant progress in order to renew the Green Key. The hotel’s ongoing certification shows that they are committed to incorporating sustainability into all aspects of their business.

In terms of energy efficiency, the building has installed more than 6,000 LED lights and utilises only non-CFC coolants. In addition to using 200 solar panels to heat water, it relies on renewable energy.

By distributing 1,500 aerators to all of the outlets, we can save 10,000 litres of water every day through our water conservation methods. About 140 kilolitres of recycled water is used daily, with some of that coming from rainwater gathering systems and some from the on-site sewage treatment plant.

Among the hotel’s waste-reduction efforts is a glass water bottling factory that removes approximately 30,000 bottles of plastic every month. The on-site herb garden uses manure that is made from organic waste.

“The ongoing effort of our team has been strongly validated by securing the Green Key renewal for the third year,” stated Sukhbir Singh, General Manager of Novotel Hyderabad Airport. The Novotel Hyderabad Airport incorporates sustainability into its system design, resource management, and guest engagement strategies. We strive to improve our procedures year after year in order to establish a sustainable hospitality environment that is both efficient and responsible.
