In a significant development for India’s inbound tourism industry, the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has elected a new Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term. Mr. Ravi Gosain has been elected as the new President of IATO, following a closely watched election process. His entire panel has also been elected, ushering in a dynamic leadership team poised to drive renewed momentum in India’s tourism sector.
The newly elected Executive Committee includes:
Mr. Rajnish Kaistha – Senior Vice President
Mr. Sanjay Razdan – Vice President
Mr Sunil Mishra – Honorary Secretary
Mr. Deepak Bhatnagar – Honorary Treasurer
Mr Viney Tyagi – Honorary Joint Secretary
Mr. Rajiv Mehra – Immediate Past President
Executive Members: Mr Harish Mathur, Mr Manoj Kumar Matta, Mr Rishi Kapoor, Mr Sejoe Jose, Mr Tony Marwah, Mr Ashok Dhoot, Mr P. Vijayasarathy, and Mr Wasim Shaikh.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Gosain said:
“We are deeply grateful to our members for their faith in me and my team. It will be our sincere endeavour to support and empower our members to grow their businesses in a dynamic and competitive environment.”
He emphasised the need for close collaboration with the government to revive India’s inbound tourism growth. “Foreign Tourist Arrival numbers have been declining, and we strongly advocate for aggressive international marketing campaigns, participation in overseas travel marts and roadshows, and the reinstatement of familiarisation(FAM) trips for foreign tour operators, bloggers, and media.”
Mr Gosain also reiterated the team’s commitment to reviving the long-stalled Marketing Development Assistance (MDA) scheme, which he described as crucial for supporting small and medium-sized tour operators in reaching global markets.
“Our vision is clear – to build a stronger, more inclusive IATO that champions the interests of our members and positions India as a leading global travel destination,” he concluded.
