We are excited to announce a double celebration: the official launch of the revitalised StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands in Singapore and the maiden voyage of the Star Voyager departing from Singapore.
Star Cruises, the legendary Star Cruises brand’s revitalised successor, and the iconic Dream Cruises brand have officially relaunched their legacy with a grand ceremonial event aboard the Star Voyager in Singapore. The announcement marks an exciting new chapter for both brands, which have over 30 years of history and are now revitalised with a fresh and innovative vision for the future of cruising.
The launch of both brands coincided with the Star Voyager’s maiden voyage under the StarCruises banner, which was a US$50 million refit of the ship sailing out from the Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC). Singapore will serve as a key homeport and destination alongside Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, fostering tourism across these cities while offering passengers flexible embarkation options from multiple ports and countries.
The milestone event, celebrating the official launch of StarCruises and Dream Cruises and the inaugural sailing of the Star Voyager, was officiated by both Ms Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive – Experience Development Group, Singapore Tourism Board and Ms Jacqueline Tan, CEO, Singapore Cruise Centre, alongside StarCruises and Dream Cruises’ CEO and Executive Director, Mr Colin Au and its President, Mr Michael Goh, together with the senior management team.
“We are thrilled and honoured to return to our roots with the launch of the revitalised StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands, offering an enhanced cruising experience. To celebrate this milestone, we are also excited to introduce the Star Voyager as she embarks on her maiden voyage from Singapore, exploring the wonders of Southeast Asia,” said Mr Michael Goh, President of StarCruises and Dream Cruises.
“Star Voyager’s seasonal homeporting in Singapore, offering several new itineraries across Southeast Asia, marks an exciting milestone for our cruise industry. Her addition bolsters our variety of cruise offerings in Singapore, underscoring the strong confidence in Singapore’s Flourishing cruise industry. As one of Asia’s leading cruise hubs, we remain committed to strengthening our cruise offerings for locals and international visitors,” said Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive, Experience Development Group, Singapore Tourism Board.
Ms Jacqueline Tan, SCC CEO, said, “Singapore Cruise Centre is extremely pleased to welcome back StarCruises to homeport at our Terminal again. The arrival of their newest ship feels like a homecoming since their first ship, Langkapuri Star Aquarius, was homeported with us 32 years ago in 1993. Our Harbourfront Cruise terminal location also provides Star Voyager passengers seamless access to the Precinct’s rich amenities with over 1 million sqft of retail and F&B space, a convenient multi-modal transportation hub for easy access to Singapore’s many attractions, including Sentosa, which sits right across the Bay. These attributes reinforce our position as a preferred port for smaller and medium-sized vessels.”
