2025 has truly been a successful year for LOT Polish Airlines, especially as the company was able to set the course for a successful future. The Polish airline, which has been a member of Star Alliance since 2003, welcomed more than 11.7 million passengers aboard its flights in 2025, an increase of 9.4 percent year-over-year.

To modernise its fleet and enable further growth, LOT Polish Airlines ordered 55 new aircraft last year and further secured the option for 44 additional aircrafts. Furthermore, the Polish flag carrier inducted new Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft towards the end of 2025; 13 jets of this model will enter service by mid-2026.
In the fourth quarter of 2026, two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners will also be added to the long-haul fleet.
“These results are definitely something we can be proud of,” emphasizes Michał Fijoł, CEO & President of the Management Board of LOT Polish Airlines. “We carried 11.7 million passengers, nearly 10 percent more than the year before, launched nine new destinations and strengthened our presence in the regions. Due to launch of the largest fleet modernisation programme in the airline’s history, a total of 55 new aircraft will be delivered, with an option to purchase 44 additional frames. As a result, by the end of the decade, LOT Polish Airlines will be operating one of the youngest aircraft fleets in Europe.”
Passengers aboard the new Boeing 737 MAX-8 will get a first impression of how pleasant flying with LOT Polish Airlines will continue to be in the future. Not only does the cabin feature a new, fresh design, but guests will also find modern seats with many amenities, such as flexibly adjustable headrests, USB-C ports and smartphone holders.
New flights to San Francisco and Bangkok take off in 2026
LOT Polish Airlines’ sustainable growth strategy also includes the targeted expansion of its route network. Nine new routes were added in 2025, including operations from the airline’s global hub in Warsaw to Lisbon, Malta, Marrakesh, Rovaniemi, Stavanger and Thessaloniki. The carrier also connected Gdańsk with Istanbul.
Fifteen more new routes will follow in 2026, including flights from Warsaw to Malaga, Almaty, Bologna, Heraklion, Palma de Mallorca and Porto. In May 2026, LOT Polish Airlines will launch a new long-haul route to San Francisco, and non-stop flights between Warsaw and Bangkok will also be available before for the winter schedule 2026/2027. In addition, LOT Polish Airlines keeps growing its foot print at regional airports in Poland and will soon connect Kraków with Madrid, Barcelona and Rome, while passengers departing from Gdańsk will be able to fly to Brussels, Oslo and Bergen.
