The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) unveiled the details of its highly anticipated 38th Annual Convention, set to take place from September 29 to October 2 in the culturally rich city of Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The announcement was made during the IATO Interactive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

Under the theme of ‘Inbound Tourism and Emerging Sustainable Trends,’ this convention promises to be a significant gathering for tour operators and stakeholders from all corners of India. Mr. Rajiv Mehra, President of IATO, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, emphasizing its importance in rejuvenating the tourism sector.

Mr. Mehra also informed that the key figures at the convention include Mr. Rajnish Kaistha, Senior Vice President of IATO, as the Convention Chairman, while Mr. Sanjay Razdan serves as the Honorary Secretary and Mr. Jitendra Kejriwal as the Chairman of the IATO Maharashtra Chapter, acting as Co-Chairmen. Mr. Jaswant Singh, a dedicated IATO member from Aurangabad, has been appointed as the Convention Coordinator.

The WelcomHotel by ITC Hotels Rama International will be the venue hotel for the convention, hosting a multitude of activities over the three days. These activities encompass the registration process, the grand inaugural function, interactive business sessions, and captivating evening programs.

Mr. Ravi Gosain, Vice President of IATO, anticipates an impressive turnout with an estimated 900 to 1000 delegates hailing from all corners of India. Among the participants are senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, representatives from various state governments, industry leaders, professionals from the tourism and hospitality sectors, and members of the travel trade media.

Five post-convention tours are also in the works, promising delegates a chance to explore diverse sectors. With the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic, states across India are eager to revitalize inbound tourism, and this convention will provide an ideal platform for discussions and collaborations to make that happen.

Aside from this, Mr. Ravi Gosain emphasized that the convention would focus on addressing pressing issues in the industry during its business sessions, with experts from various fields set to participate.
