As part of its ESG+ framework, Paathya, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is partnering with Tata Steel Foundation to bring a series of tribal culinary pop-ups to its facilities in Goa. Native American home cooks will have access to new, long-term employment prospects through this programme, which also seeks to honour indigenous cuisines.

On February 27–March 1, 2026, the Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa in Goa, and on February 28–March 1, 2026, the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa in Goa will host the presentation Tales From Tribes. As a continuation of IHCL’s partnership with Samvaad—A Tribal Conclave by Tata Steel Foundation, this programme follows an earlier one in Mumbai. Luxury dining establishments serve regional tribal dishes as part of the tailored experience. Dishes from the Rabha people of Meghalaya and Jharkhand, like Ghoogni and Dhuska, are on the menu at Taj Holiday Village. Chicken Kappa with Black Lentils is one example of the Garo cuisine that diners can sample at Taj Exotica.

Stories from Goa’s indigenous communities centre on the theme of confluence. Here, local delicacies sourced from the forest meet the beauty of sunsets on the beach, traditional cooking methods are showcased in sophisticated restaurants, and Goa, widely recognised as the culinary capital of India, once again demonstrates its ability to welcome variety while honouring authenticity.
