The UAE was formed from the group of tribally organized Arabian Peninsula sheikhdoms. The UAE lies on the eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered by Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south and the west by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The UAE, formerly known as the Trucial States, is a young and dynamic country whose federal sovereign state was established in 1971. It is a 43-year-old country consisting of seven emirates that were united by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan in a single state.
