Held on a Friday afternoon at Le Meridien, Portugal’s gourmet extra virgin olive oil brand Coração Do Vale formally joined the Indian market. The Portuguese Pour – Chef DK’s Tasting Series was an event that fused Chef Davinder Kumar’s fifty years of experience in the kitchen with the rich history of olive cultivation in Portugal. Coração Do Vale, an ultra-premium extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) produced in the sun-drenched olive groves of Baixo Alentejo, Portugal, was introduced to Indian food enthusiasts at the exclusive, invitation-only event.

In an effort to introduce Indian consumers to the gastronomic treasures of Portugal, Leads Brand Connect has imported the brand to the country. The tasting menu, put together by Chef DK, showcased the adaptability of Coração Do Vale and its ability to link European haute cuisine with well-known Indian flavours. Tomato & Raw Mango Carpaccio with Kalamata Dust, Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Shaved Parmesan; Charred Sweet Potato Chaat with Bajra Crisp, Imli Jaggery & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Reduction; Pan Seared Sole with Mint, Caper & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tapenade; and Rustic Carrot & Cinnamon Cake were the four signature dishes that were creatively prepared for the event and showcased in the live demonstrations. Crostini, roasted makhana, and olive focaccia with extra-virgin olive oil were also served as a welcome snack.

Pan Seared Fish with Mint Caper & EVOO Tapenade, Paneer Khaas, Pasta Aglio e Olio, Dum Subz Biryani, and Broccoli Almond Soup accompanied by EVOO Pesto Crostini were the starters of the multi-course feast. Tiramisu, Mango Flan, Phirni, and Ice Cream were served as desserts at the end of the experience, along with a signature mocktail that had olive oil infused into it, an innovative touch that many guests found noteworthy.
