Michał Fijoł, CEO at LOT Polish Airlines: “The results for 2025 show that we are capable of combining dynamic growth with financial responsibility. We carried a record number of passengers, expanded our flight network, and launched the largest fleet modernization program in LOT Polish Airlines history, while generating a net profit of PLN 350 million. This is a very good result, which provides us with a solid foundation for implementing the next stages of our strategy for years 2024–2028. Our goal is for LOT Polish Airlines to be an airline ready to serve as the region’s leading carrier.”

A record-breaking year in terms of the number of passengers

In 2025, 11.7 million passengers travelled on LOT Polish Airlines flights, which was 9.4 percent more than the previous year. It was the best operating result in the airline’s history. July turned out to be a record-breaking month, with nearly 1.19 million passengers flying with LOT Polish Airlines.

The growing number of passengers confirms the effectiveness of the airline’s development strategy and the appeal of the carrier’s offerings. LOT Polish Airlines is consistently strengthening its position by connecting Poland and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe with key destinations in Europe, North America, and Asia.

The largest fleet modernization program in LOT Polish Airlines history

One of the most important events of 2025 was the signing of a contract with Airbus at the Paris Air Show for the delivery of forty A220 aircraft. The contract also includes options and purchase rights for an additional 44 aircraft, which means LOT Polish Airlines could acquire a total of up to 84 aircraft of this type.

The first Airbus A220s will join the fleet in 2027. They will be part of the ongoing process of comprehensive modernization and consolidation of the regional fleet, which will ultimately consist exclusively of A220 family aircraft. This will improve operational efficiency, simplify network planning, and enhance travel experience.

In December 2025, LOT Polish airlines also took delivery of the first of thirteen new Boeing 737 MAX 8. These aircraft, equipped with new, functional cabins, expand the potential for growth in European and medium-haul flights. More aircraft began joining the fleet in the first half of 2026.

New directions and a stronger presence in the regions

In 2025, LOT Polish Airlines launched 9 new connections – from Warsaw to Lisbon, Thessaloniki, Reykjavik, Marrakech, Stavanger, Rovaniemi, and Malta, from Krakow to Paris-Orly, and from Radom to Barcelona.

At the same time, the Polish carrier announced 15 additional flights planned for 2026. In total, this amounts to more than 20 new connections that have been launched or announced, strengthening LOT Polish Airlines offerings from Warsaw and regional airports.

An important aspect of network development is expanding the carrier’s presence beyond its main hub. In 2025, LOT Polish Airlines launched a connection from Krakow to Paris-Orly and also announced new flights from Krakow to Rome, Barcelona, and Madrid. The flight schedule from Gdansk has also been expanded to include routes to Istanbul, Brussels, Oslo and Bergen.

The expansion of operations from regional ports increases the availability of direct connections for residents of various parts of Poland, while also supporting the development of tourism, economic exchange, and business contacts.

Four Skytrax Stars for LOT Polish Airlines

In 2025, LOT Polish Airlines was also recognized for its consistent efforts to improve the quality of the passenger experience. The airline received four stars in the Skytrax international rankings and the title of Best Airline in Eastern Europe at the 2025 World Airline Awards.

The modernization of business lounges in Warsaw, the enhancement of in-flight services, and a new cabin design is all part of a comprehensive transformation of the passenger experience. Its goal is to ensure a consistent, modern travel experience inspired by Polish hospitality at every stage of interaction with the LOT Polish Airlines brand.

High operational standards and responsible growth

In 2025, LOT Polish Airlines has obtained the IATA Environmental Assessment certificate, confirming its implementation of international environmental management standards. The carrier also earned its fourth IATA CEIV certificate in the cargo sector – CEIV Live Animals – joining a select group of airlines that hold a full set of certifications for the transport of pharmaceuticals, perishable goods, lithium batteries, and live animals.

The results achieved in 2025 confirm that LOT Polish Airlines is consistently implementing its strategy for 2024–2028. The expansion of the flight network and fleet, improvements in product quality, and the maintenance of a stable financial position provide a solid foundation for the Company’s continued growth.
