On 12-13 June 2026, Shirdi will play host to the third Global Spiritual tourists Conclave organised by the PHDCCI. This event will bring together professionals in the hospitality industry, policymakers, and tourists to explore potential in India’s burgeoning spiritual tourism market.

At Shirdi’s Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust Auditorium, the conclave will be held. The organisers, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), are working with the Maharashtra Tourism Board (MTDC), the Government of India’s Ministry of Tourism, and Maharashtra Tourism to pull it off.

At this year’s event, attendees will be discussing how the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027–28 in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar could boost tourism, infrastructure, and destination development in Maharashtra.

The chief guest of honour, Bhuvnesh Kumar, is the secretary of India’s ministry of tourism. On the other hand, we have Neelesh R. Gatne, MD of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, Goraksha Gadilkar, CEO of the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust in Shirdi, Mangesh Joshi, DV of the Maharashtra Government’s Directorate of Tourism, Jayashri Vishnu Thorat, President of the Shirdi Nagar Parishad, and Abhay Shelke Patil, VP of the same organisation.

Amrit Abhijat, the Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, will also deliver a virtual keynote presentation during the summit.

In a study titled From darshan to destination: The transformation of spiritual tourism in India, which will be released during the event by PHDCCI and KPMG, the authors analyse current trends in pilgrim travel, the influence of faith-based tourism on the economy, the need for new infrastructure, and digital change.

The issues that will be discussed on the panels include designing a spiritual tourism corridor around Simhastha 2027, making visitor experiences available 24/7, preserving heritage, designing temples, and the increasing connection between spirituality, wellness, and travel.

Additionally, delegates will get the opportunity to visit the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga and the Shri Saibaba Temple in Nashik.
