The HeritEdge Celebrations, a component of Indian Hotels Company Limited’s (IHCL) ESG+ framework Paathya, will take place at a number of hotels in honour of World Heritage Day. Over the course of two days, participants will participate in a variety of experiential activities designed to raise awareness about India’s intangible cultural legacy.

“The people, the communities, and the master artisans who sustain these living traditions across generations are the pillars upon which India’s Intangible Cultural Heritage rests,” stated Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President for Human Resources, IHCL. In the footsteps of Paathya, HeritEdge puts responsibility into action by facilitating livelihoods, uplifting local communities, and crafting immersive experiences that bring our guests closer to India’s essence.

Participating hotels will develop region-specific programming for the initiative, which is set to take place April 17–18, 2026. Some examples of these activities include heritage walks, cultural conversations, craft workshops, and culinary courses focused on traditional recipes. Additionally, hotels will arrange for wellness workshops, traditional performances, and local culinary festivals.

Along with pop-up exhibitions showcasing the work of local artisans—including those who make Bandhani, Rogan art, block printing, and Tanjore paintings—IHCL properties will also host interactive storytelling sessions for kids.

This project is in line with IHCL’s larger goals of promoting ethical tourism and empowering local communities to preserve their cultural heritage.
