An initiative that celebrates the innovation and ability of women in gastronomy, “Women in Taste” was hosted for Season 2 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield. In a competitive yet collaborative setting, the platform brought together budding cooks and food enthusiasts in March to honour Women’s Day.
The yearly competition, which was sparked by Hilton’s WTMRG effort, reduced the pool of applications from twenty to ten. General Manager Shyam Kumar, along with Executive Chef Tamoghna, Chef Sherie Mehtaa, and Chef Sherie all served as mentors and judges for the event.
Speaking about Women in Taste, Shyam Kumar stated that it is more than just a competition. It serves as a forum that honours women’s uniqueness, inventiveness, and the changing role they play in the culinary industry. “We are thrilled to have created an environment where exceptional talent is nurtured with love and acknowledged with kindness.”
The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by each participant was very amazing, as Chef Sherie Mehtaa remarked. Programs like this inspire women to be themselves in the kitchen and try new things.
Each of the five finalists had the chance to organise a unique pop-up at the hotel as part of the program, where she could show off her unique culinary viewpoint to paying customers in an intimate setting.
At the end of the event, there was a felicitation ceremony to honour the outstanding attendees, which reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to community-led involvement and immersive hospitality.
