The position of Director of Human Resources has been filled by Sonia D’Cunha at the Hilton Hyderabad Genome Valley Resort & Spa. She is a human capital leader with more than 16 years of experience in the high-end hospitality industry in India.
D’Cunha was the HR manager at The Leela Hyderabad before joining. She oversaw programs that reduced employee turnover by 30% and increased colleague satisfaction by 94% during her time in office. She previously collaborated with the Hyatt Regency Trivandrum’s Leadership Committee on matters pertaining to team culture, employee welfare, and people strategy. She oversaw human resources and training at the Grand Hyatt Kochi, where she specialised in developing employees’ abilities and implementing systems for organised instruction. The resort’s people and culture strategy will be overseen by D’Cunha in her new job. As part of her role, she is responsible for developing leaders, planning for succession, managing performance, engaging employees, and making sure that Hilton’s worldwide HR standards are followed.
The appointment is a major accomplishment of which I am very proud, Ms. D’Cunha stated in an interview. What makes this work so meaningful to me is Hilton’s tradition of care, its people-first attitude, and the standards it puts itself to globally. Building a workforce that shares my internal pride is something I’m excited about. When employees love what they do for a living, it shows.
