The world’s leading travel trade fair ITB Berlin 2026 concluded on Thursday, marking three days of intense engagement between tourism stakeholders from across continents. Rajasthan Tourism used the global platform to present the state’s heritage, culture and tourism experiences to the international travel industry, with its Pavilion 200 attracting steady footfall throughout the event.

A delegation from the Rajasthan Tourism Department led by Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar participated in the fair. She was accompanied by Additional Director Pawan Jain and Joint Director Dr. Puneeta Singh, who remained present in Berlin to represent the state and interact with international tourism stakeholders.

The Rajasthan pavilion, designed to reflect the region’s traditional architectural aesthetics, offered visitors a glimpse into the state’s historic forts, palaces, desert landscapes, wildlife destinations and living cultural traditions. The display drew considerable attention from travel professionals and visitors keen to explore new destinations in India.

During the fair, officials from Rajasthan Tourism held a series of interactions with leading tour operators, travel agents and tourism companies from Germany and other European countries. The discussions focused on strengthening existing partnerships and exploring new collaborations to further promote Rajasthan in the European travel market.

A lively roadshow organised at the Rajasthan stand added to the pavilion’s appeal. Around 35 travel bloggers and digital influencers attended the session, where they were introduced to the state’s varied tourism experiences—from heritage circuits and desert safaris to festivals, wildlife tourism and local cultural traditions.

Visitors also took part in an engaging Rajasthan-themed quiz, which brought an element of excitement to the pavilion. Winners were presented with traditional Rajasthani souvenirs, while guests were offered authentic Indian snacks, giving them a small taste of the region’s hospitality.

In her interactions with German and European tour operators, Rukmani Riar spoke about the interesting architectural parallels between the historic forts of Rajasthan and fortifications found in parts of Germany.

She observed that despite differing landscapes, both regions share a legacy of building strategic defensive structures on elevated terrain—an aspect that reflects comparable historical approaches to settlement and protection.

The Rajasthan pavilion had earlier been inaugurated by India’s Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the presence of Ajit Vinayak Gupte, Ambassador of India to Germany.

Throughout the three-day fair, the Rajasthan delegation also participated in several B2B meetings and networking sessions, presenting the state’s heritage circuits, cultural festivals and experience-based tourism opportunities to international travel companies.

Industry observers point out that Europe continues to remain one of Rajasthan’s most important international source markets, with travellers from Germany, France and the United Kingdom showing sustained interest in the state’s historic architecture, crafts and immersive cultural experiences.

Participation in ITB Berlin is expected to strengthen Rajasthan’s engagement with the European tourism sector and help expand its international visitor base in the years ahead.
