On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Guwahati airport’s new terminal building, which cost 4,000 crore, would open on February 22.

On December 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the new Lokpriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport (LGBIA) terminal. In a matter of years, it went from being an open area to a world-class gateway. In a post on X, Sarma stated, “This change reflects a clear vision for a more connected and confident Assam. The @GuwahatiAirport opens its doors to the world on February 22nd, inaugurated by Adarniya Shri @narendramodi ji,” he stated.

According to an official, the existing terminal will be transformed into a freight hub, and by March, both local and international aircraft are anticipated to run from the new terminal.
