The Kumaon, an award-winning luxury boutique retreat in the Himalayas, is excited to announce an exclusive wellness retreat in collaboration with Ajna Yoga, taking place from September 25 to September 29, 2025.

High above the valleys of Almora, the Kumaon becomes the setting for a five-day journey into balance and presence. Here, the philosophy of devotion and conscious living is not taught but lived: in the rhythm of breath at sunrise, in the stillness of cedar forests, in the simplicity of meals designed to nourish body and spirit.

The retreat, with a focus on well-being and spiritual awakening, offers a thoughtfully crafted, layered itinerary, with each day providing an opportunity to connect with nature and oneself. Itinerary includes:

● Sunrise & sunset Kundalini yoga to align breath and energy
● Nourishing meals including traditional Kumaoni dishes
● Excursion to the Kasar Devi Temple, known for its high magnetic field, and the Neem Karoli Baba shrine
● Walk through the eight km-long forest, followed by a high tea picnic setup at the Kosi River
● Relaxing massage at the in-house spa centre at The Kumaon

A retreat of intention and simplicity, this is a chance to take a pause amidst the chaos, get away from the city’s bustle, immerse oneself in the lap of nature, and reconnect with your inner self.

Location & How to get here:

The Kumaon rests in the charming village of Gadholi in Kasar Devi, a scenic ridge that overlooks the city of Almora in Uttarakhand, known for its rich history. Over the centuries, pilgrims as well as many distinguished artists and scholars have visited the region, like Swami Vivekananda, DH Lawrence, Timothy Leary and Bob Dylan, to name a few.
