A flagship initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, ITM promotes the North East’s diverse tourism potential—ranging from eco-tourism and adventure trails to spiritual circuits, rural experiences, wildlife tours, and community-led sustainable tourism. The Mart positions the region as an integrated destination for domestic and international travellers.
Sikkim Hosts ITM After a Decade
Hosting the Mart for the second time after ten years, Sikkim spotlighted its achievements in sustainable tourism, organic farming, biodiversity conservation, and cultural preservation. State officials reiterated the importance of collective branding and collaboration to strengthen tourism across the North East.
Strong International and Domestic Participation
The 2025 Edition has drawn 39 international delegates from 19 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Israel, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
In addition, around 90 domestic tour operators from 22 Indian States and UTs are participating in B2B interactions with suppliers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. Influencers and travel media are also in attendance to amplify global visibility.
Business Sessions and Cultural Highlights
From 14–15 November, the Mart features technical sessions, panel discussions, product briefings, and B2B meetings focusing on cinematic tourism, homestays, and strategies for infrastructure enhancement. Delegates were also treated to cultural performances showcasing the region’s artistic heritage.
Curated visits to Rumtek Monastery, Do Drul Chorten, and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology offered participants a closer look at Sikkim’s spiritual and cultural landscape.
Celebrating North East’s Tourism Strengths
Product presentations underscored the region’s offerings—from wildlife tourism, river cruises, and culinary trails to festivals and adventure activities. Post-Mart familiarisation tours for Indian and international delegates will further introduce them to the natural beauty and cultural richness of the North Eastern States.
The 13th International Tourism Mart continues to strengthen the region’s position on the global tourism map by promoting partnerships, sustainable practices, and unified branding.
