In a significant step toward advancing technology adoption in India’s tourism and hospitality sector, global hospitality technology firm STAAH has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Clarks Hotels & Resorts in New Delhi.

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon signed the Memorandum of Understanding at ITC Maurya in Delhi. This collaboration underscores New Zealand’s growing influence in technology-driven service industries and its capability to support large-scale hospitality businesses worldwide.
Prime Minister Luxon’s visit to India aims to strengthen economic ties and foster business collaborations between the two nations, facilitating key partnerships such as this MoU. A delegation of over 80 officials and business leaders accompanied him, highlighting New Zealand’s expanding role in India’s fast-growing digital economy.

“While cricket remains a strong cultural connection between India and New Zealand, there are several other areas where both countries can collaborate and build meaningful partnerships. Technology and hospitality are two such sectors with immense potential to drive growth. We look forward to unlocking new possibilities that drive innovation, economic expansion, and shared prosperity for both countries,” said New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

Established in 2005, The Clarks Hotels & Resorts has rapidly emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing hotel management chains. With a portfolio of over 135 hotels in more than 120 destinations across India and a presence in three countries, the group offers a diverse range of hospitality experiences. As part of this partnership, The Clarks Hotels & Resorts will implement STAAH’s advanced distribution technology to enhance its operations.

“We are delighted to sign this MoU, which reflects the accelerating digital transformation of India’s tourism and hospitality sectors. The recent developments create new growth opportunities for companies based in New Zealand. India’s hospitality industry is one of the fastest-growing worldwide, attracting significant technological investment to enhance hotel operations and guest experiences. Adopting cloud-based distribution and revenue management solutions is becoming essential for luxury and heritage properties to remain competitive. STAAH is at the forefront of this evolution,” said Tarun Joukani, Director at STAAH.

“At The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, we are committed to delivering world-class hospitality while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. Partnering with STAAH enables us to integrate cutting-edge technology into our operations, further elevating the luxury hospitality experience for our guests. This collaboration will enhance our operational efficiency and guest engagement, strengthening our position in the industry,” said Aryavir Kumar, Managing Director at The Clarks Hotels & Resorts.

This strategic alliance marks an important milestone in New Zealand-India business relations, reinforcing the role of technology in driving innovation and excellence in the hospitality sector.
