Rajasthan continues to shine as a top tourist destination, attracting over 52.35 million visitors in the first three months of 2025. The total number of tourists consists of 51.56 million domestic visitors and 788,735 international travelers.
According to Mr Dalip Singh Rathore, Joint Director of the Department of Tourism, religious tourism remains a significant draw. Religious sites in the state saw visits from over 34.88 million domestic tourists and 86,487 international visitors in this period.
Forts and palaces — the pride of Rajasthan — also remained popular, with 3.58 million Indian and 233,066 foreign tourists visiting these historic locations.
Mr. Rathore stated that the Rajasthan government is focused on enhancing facilities at key tourist destinations, particularly religious sites, to meet international standards. We aim to improve the travel experience for all visitors, making it comfortable and memorable.

The tourism department is working under the guidance of Tourism Secretary Mr Ravi Jain to implement the vision of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. The goal is to make Rajasthan a top global tourism destination.
Efforts are ongoing to restore and maintain religious sites, as well as promote repeat tourism. The state is also actively promoting local products, heritage, handicrafts, wildlife, fairs, and festivals as part of the “One District, One Product” initiative.
Mr Rathore added that while international tourism depends on global trends, the current numbers are a positive sign for the future of tourism in Rajasthan.
