With the Mahakumbh 2025 already starting, travellers are increasingly eager to explore the ancient city of Prayagraj. To address this demand, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has launched a heritage tour package for just Rs 2020, with bookings available online at www.upstdc.co.in. The tour, which commences on January 13, 2025, offers a full-day guided exploration of Prayagraj’s rich cultural and historical landmarks.

Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh announced the initiative and highlighted Prayagraj’s unparalleled spiritual and historical importance. The city, famous for its connection to the Mahakumbh, has numerous ancient religious sites and culinary delights. The daily heritage tour begins at 7:00 AM from Hotel Ilawart and concludes at the exact location by 6:00 PM.

During the tour, visitors will first witness the iconic Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers converge. Devotees will also visit the Akshayavat Corridor, Allahabad Fort, the sacred Akshayavat tree, Bade Hanuman Temple with its 20-foot reclining Hanuman idol, and Bharadwaj Ashram, steeped in Hindu scriptures. The itinerary includes a tour of Chandrashekhar Azad Park, commemorating the revolutionary freedom fighter, and Alfred Park, a historic landmark.

The tour continues with a visit to the Allahabad Museum, home to rare artefacts showcasing India’s history, culture, and architecture since its establishment in 1931. After a lunch break, the tour proceeds to Shringverpur Dham at 2:00 PM, where visitors can spend two hours exploring significant sites linked to Lord Ram, such as Ramghat, Mahadev Temple, and Ramshayan Ashram. The tour concludes at Hotel Ilawart at 6:00 PM.

During the tour, tourists can also shop for traditional handicrafts, including hand-woven textiles, bamboo and wooden toys, religious artefacts, and embroidered garments.
