Maati Nature Resort commemorated India’s 77th Republic Day with a heartfelt celebration themed “Vande Mataram.” In a very unique way the Tricolour was created and decorated naturally with forest flowers and resort plants. The event, held on the resort grounds, brought together resort staff, guests, local residents, and community leaders for a morning of patriotic reflection, cultural performances, and community pledges to protect the environment.

The program began with the ceremonial flag hoisting followed by the national anthem and a special address by Sakshi Sawant, Director, Maati Nature Resort. In her address, Ms. Sawant reflected on the deeper meaning of “Vande Mataram,” interpreting the word “Mataram” as a set of guiding values for responsible citizenship:

“Today, as we stand together under the tricolour, our hearts echo with one powerful chant, which is the theme for this year’s Republic Day – ‘Vande Mataram.’ It is not just a slogan. It is an emotion, a promise, and a responsibility towards our Motherland. Today, I would like to reflect on ‘Mataram’ by giving meaning to each of its letters — values that can guide us not just as citizens of India, but as members of a responsible society.”

Further depicting the meaning of each letter she voiced, “Ma-Maati,(Soil), Ta-Tarika, (Conduct & Manner), Ra- Rah, (Path), M- Madad (Help)” She asserted.

MA – Maati (माटी): Maati means soil – the very foundation of our nation. This soil has absorbed the sweat of our farmers, the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, and the dreams of billions of Indians. Respecting Maati means respecting our environment, keeping our surroundings clean, and protecting nature for future generations. If we protect our soil, our soil will protect our future.

TA – Tarika (तरीका): Tarika means manners and conduct. A strong nation is not built only by laws, but by the way its people behave — how we speak, how we respect elders, how we treat women, workers, and neighbours. Good Tarika in daily life — honesty, discipline, patience — is the real backbone of nation-building.

RA – Rah (राह): Rah means the path. India’s strength lies in walking together — across religions, languages, regions, and opinions. The path ahead demands unity, responsibility, and participation. When we choose the right Rah, even small steps by ordinary citizens can lead to extraordinary national progress.

M – Madad (मदद): Madad means help. A true republic is built on brotherhood — where we stand by each other in times of need. Helping a neighbour, supporting the underprivileged, guiding the young, caring for the elderly — this is real patriotism. When we help each other grow, the nation automatically rises.

“’Vande Mataram’ reminds us that loving our country is not limited to one day. It is reflected in how we protect our Maati, follow the right Tarika, walk the correct Rah, and extend Madad to one another. Let us take a pledge today — to be responsible citizens, compassionate neighbours, and proud Indians and society members. Vande Mataram! Jai Hind!” Said Mr Shailesh Kher, Advisor, Maati Nature Resort.
