Jamaica’s tourism sector is celebrating a period of significant growth, marked by a record-breaking July for visitor arrivals and the groundbreaking of a major new luxury resort.

Jamaica welcomed 286,548 stopover visitors in July 2025, marking its strongest July ever. The data shows a 16.5% increase compared to July 2024 and a 4.8% rise compared to July 2023. Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, said, “These exceptional numbers reflect Jamaica’s position as the Caribbean’s most sought-after destination. The growth showcases the strength of our destination assurance programme and the effectiveness of our marketing strategies.”

Director of Tourism, Donovan White, added, “This growth represents not just numbers, but families choosing Jamaica for their vacations, business travellers discovering our facilities, and repeat visitors returning for our hospitality and natural beauty.”

At the same time, Jamaica is preparing for further expansion with the development of Moon Palace, The Grand. This $700 million, 1,200-room luxury resort, set to open in Success, St. James, promises to be a significant economic driver.

The resort will feature overwater bungalows, more than 13 speciality restaurants, a waterpark, and Jamaica’s largest spa. Minister Bartlett highlighted that the project aligns with the government’s vision for inclusive tourism, ensuring surrounding communities benefit from growth.

Together, these two milestones—record visitor arrivals and a significant new investment—reinforce Jamaica’s status as a premier tourism destination. The island is successfully combining high demand with new developments that will enhance the visitor experience and create lasting opportunities for local communities.
