ITB India 2025 started at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on September 2 and is concluding today, September 4. The event’s purpose was to connect the global travel trade with India’s growing demand. This year’s theme was “The Business of Experience: Curated Travel for Targeted Growth,” with a focus on wellness, culture, storytelling, and adventure. It took place alongside MICE Show India and Travel Tech India, creating a single venue for deals, learning, and networking.
Scale is important at a B2B show, and the official numbers have proven strong. More than 400 exhibitors were present, over 600 high-quality buyers attended from India and South Asia, and more than 8,000 trade visitors were expected over the three days. This is the third in-person edition of the show, designed as a space for MICE, corporate, leisure, and travel technology stakeholders who want to turn India’s demand into bookings and partnerships.
The mix of exhibitors included a wide range of international participants along with Indian companies. Key exhibitors included Wonderful Indonesia, Visit Northern Finland, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism Oman, and the Sarawak Tourism Board. Additional stands came from the Ha Noi Tourism Information and Promotion Centre, Destination 2 Italia, Fly24hrs, Galaxy Expeditions, Infiniti Software Solutions, Pearl Mara, Prince Hotels & Resorts, and VEGA Hotel and Convention Center. Their presence showed a clear interest in attracting Indian travelers and meeting planners with experience-focused products for both outbound and inbound opportunities.

The event also highlighted government partnerships within India. Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Chhattisgarh Tourism, and Andhra Pradesh Tourism served as Official Partner States, promoting these destinations for authentic cultural and nature-rich itineraries beyond the usual metropolitan areas. For buyers and travel managers, this meant direct access to DMCs, venues, and products that can be packaged for premium FITs, groups, and incentive programs in the future.
The conference content focused on practical, business-oriented topics. The agenda was divided across two stages and four tracks: Knowledge Theatre, MICE and Corporate, Travel Tech, and Experiential Travel, with over 40 confirmed sessions. Scott Wegener, Head of Asia Pacific at Tripadvisor, opened the program with a keynote on South Asia’s growing role in global tourism. Other highlighted panels featured leaders from Thomas Cook India and SOTC Travel discussing changing Indian traveler behavior, Nikhil Sharma from Radisson Hotel Group on how weddings and MICE are influencing hotel needs, Parveen Chander from IHCL talking about hospitality responses to corporate events, and Deepesh Jethwani and Varun Mahajan from Tripjack discussing how to ensure duty of care in fast-moving corporate travel programs.
Technology and distribution trends were also in focus. A panel with Amadeus, RezLive.com, Skyscanner, and TBO.com explored the future of travel merchandising as AI and analytics become key in trip design and pricing. RateGain’s Anurag Jain discussed how hotels can streamline operations and use AI for sustainable growth. Additionally, leaders from Musafir.com, Riya Tours & Travels, Volaron Tech, and Zetexa Global looked at airline distribution and strategies that enhance customer engagement and revenue. The cruise sector was also featured, with Cordelia Cruises, MakeMyTrip, and StarDream Cruises India discussing how cruising is becoming popular with Indian travelers. Another panel featuring Cruise Professionals, Polarverse, STIC Travel Group, and Thomas Cook India focused on luxury expeditions and small-ship experiences. A session with Vandana Vijay from Offbeat Tracks covered building itineraries that benefit communities.
The show floor and opening ceremony featured well-known industry names, reflecting the organizer’s commitment to India. Messe Berlin Asia Pacific leaders, including Darren Seah, Katrina Leung, and Igor Palka, along with international tourism chiefs and state representatives, were present during the opening events.
As the event concludes today, the Jio World Convention Centre leaves behind a clear message: the co-location with MICE Show India and Travel Tech India, along with the confirmed exhibitor and speaker lineup and robust attendance, provided a significant opportunity to forge new partnerships, compare innovative solutions, and gather ideas for the upcoming RFP cycle. The success of this three-day event underscores India’s pivotal role in the future of the global travel industry.
