In a strong show of support for the Government of India’s counter-terror operations and recent military action, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), through its Tourism Committee, has extended unwavering solidarity with the country’s leadership and Armed Forces. In a press statement issued today, Dr Subhash Goyal, Chairman of the ICC Tourism Committee, lauded the Government’s decisive stance and the success of Operation Sindoor following the tragic terror attack targeting Indian tourists in Kashmir.

We salute our Armed Forces and all agencies involved for their calibrated and resolute response to the heinous act of terrorism. Under the strong leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has once again proved to the world that it is a strong, united nation that will not tolerate terrorism on its soil,” said Dr Goyal.

He further praised the bravery and cooperation shown by the citizens of the border areas, acknowledging their vital role in supporting the nation during this critical time. “With great pride, we have demonstrated our strength and unity,” he added.

Tourism Bodies Call for Unified Stand
In the wake of the attack, several tourism associations and industry bodies have issued statements of unity and support for the Government’s actions. The ICC has echoed these sentiments, asserting that national interest must come before commercial goals.

Taking a clear stance, Dr Goyal announced that the Indian Chamber of Commerce joined the call for a boycott of countries such as Turkey and Azerbaijan, citing their positions against India’s counter-terrorism response. “Tourism is a powerful force for peace, harmony, and international understanding. We urge Indian travellers to avoid destinations that do not align with India’s values or its fight against terrorism,” he stated.

A Call for Responsible Tourism
Dr. Goyal emphasized the need for Indian citizens to choose travel destinations that promote peace and mutual respect. “There is so much beauty in the world. We appeal to our fellow citizens to support countries that stand for peace and reject those that sympathize with terrorism or separatism,” he urged.
As one of the country’s oldest chambers of commerce, the ICC reiterated its commitment to promoting ethical and responsible tourism grounded in security, unity, and national pride.

A Unified Voice Against Terror
The statement concludes with a powerful reminder of collective responsibility: “We all are together in our fight against terrorism. The safety and integrity of our citizens must be our highest priority.”
