On March 28, 2026, the Ramada by Wyndham Lucknow Hotel and Convention Centre played home to the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) Wedding & MICE Tourism Conclave 2026 in Lucknow. In line with the government’s “Wed in India” campaign, the event convened more than fifty exhibitors, hospitality industry heavyweights, lawmakers, and wedding organisers to deliberate how to enhance the wedding and MICE tourism ecosystem in India.

Ankita Jaiswal, Chairperson – Sustainable & Responsible Tourism, HRANI & UPHRA; Surendra Kumar Jaiswal, President, FHRAI; and Garish Oberoi, Secretary, FHRAI, presided over the conclave. Among the distinguished guests who graced the inaugural session were Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, Member of Legislative Assembly from the Sarojini Nagar Constituency; Dr. Neeraj Kharwal, Medical Director of ITPO; Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General of the Indian Ministry of Tourism; Pradeep Shetty, Vice President of FHRAI; Samit Garg, President of EEMA; and Rahool Macarius, Market Managing Director of EURASIA for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Jaiswal stressed that India is becoming an increasingly popular location for weddings and meetings, incentives, conventions, and other forms of MICE tourism due to its varied venues, rich history, and modern infrastructure. Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak gave a farewell speech in which he emphasised the state’s commitment to supporting policies and developing infrastructure.

At the conclave, it was also revealed that around 2,000 delegates would be attending the 56th Annual Convention of FHRAI in Varanasi from August 21st to the 23rd, 2026. Sessions on destination weddings, increasing MICE expectations, and experience value in events were important topics of conversation, as were strategic alliances, such as an MoU with Axis Bank.
