IndiGo, India’s preferred airline, has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘World’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet 2025’ by ch-aviation in the category of airlines operating 100+ aircraft, a testament to its commitment to operational efficiency. IndiGo has received this award for the third consecutive year in this category. Furthermore, IndiGo has been ranked 4th in Asia for maintaining a modern and efficient fleet with an average aircraft age of just 4.38 years. IndiGo has a fleet of over 400 aircraft, serving over 125 destinations.

IndiGo’s Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers said, “We are humbled to be recognised by ch-aviation as the airline with the World’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet 2025. This recognition reinforces IndiGo’s steadfast commitment to operating on a modern, fuel-efficient fleet that prioritises reliability, efficiency, and sustainability as we expand towards new heights and across new frontiers. Mr. Thomas Jaeger, the CEO of ch-aviation, said of the Award: “At ch-aviation, we recognise airlines prioritising fleet modernisation and sustainability. By maintaining a young and fuel-efficient fleet, IndiGo drives innovation while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. We honour IndiGo with the World’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet 2025 award in the 100+ aircraft category, marking their outstanding commitment to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.”

Ch-aviation established the Youngest Aircraft Fleet Award to honour airlines worldwide that recognise the importance of investing in modern fleets. By incorporating next-generation aircraft, these airlines reduce CO2 emissions in the aviation sector and enhance fuel efficiency. This award is a testament to the airlines’ innovations, dedication to environmental responsibility, and efforts to shape a brighter future for air travel.

Ch-aviation maintains one of the industry’s most extensive and detailed commercial and business aviation databases, enabling the assessment of the youngest aircraft fleets. This vast intelligence covers over 110,000 aircraft, over 13,500 active airlines, 2,900 aircraft owners, and more. To determine the award winners, Ch-aviation considered only active commercial operators—passenger and cargo—with at least five aircraft as active business jet operators. A consolidated AOC list was used for airline groups with multiple Air Operator Certificates (AOCs).
