The Government of Rajasthan is committed to promoting the state’s tourism industry. In line with this vision, Jaipur is set to host the prestigious IIFA 2025 (IIFA-25) on March 8 and 9—a landmark event that will further position Rajasthan on the global tourism and cinematic map.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari emphasized that Rajasthan’s Film Tourism Promotion Policy is further streamlined to facilitate tourism and the film industry. She believes that IIFA 2025 will grant Rajasthan international recognition, fostering increased interest in film shoots across the state. According to her, hosting IIFA in Rajasthan marks a significant chapter in the convergence of modern cinema and heritage, providing a new direction to tourism while strengthening the state’s cultural and economic standing.
Tourism Secretary Mr Ravi Jain highlighted that this event presents a unique opportunity for Rajasthan’s tourism sector. He pointed out that cinema and tourism share a profound connection, as films are a powerful medium to showcase destinations to a global audience. With IIFA 2025, The Rajasthan Film Commission will further enhance Rajasthan’s cinematic appeal, making the state an even more desirable location for film productions and cine tourism.
Rajasthan has long been a preferred filming location for Bollywood and Hollywood alike. Films can elevate a destination’s global reputation, and a striking example is Satyajit Ray’s 1974 classic ‘Sonar Kella’ (The Golden Fortress), which brought international attention to Jaisalmer Fort. With its captivating themes of reincarnation and mystery, the film significantly boosted Jaisalmer’s popularity among tourists, mainly from Bengal and other states—a trend that continues today. Similarly, IIFA 2025 will bring Rajasthan’s diverse tourism offerings into the global limelight, further elevating its appeal.
Tourism Commissioner Mr Vijay Pal Singh shared that the state government is devising several initiatives to enhance film tourism. These include Dedicated film-shooting facilities at heritage sites, Special tour packages for cinema enthusiasts, & Platforms to showcase local talent.
According to Mr Singh, IIFA 2025 will boost the film industry and stimulate local tourism, businesses, and cultural events. The grand event will attract thousands of film enthusiasts, media representatives, and tourists to Jaipur, benefiting hotels, restaurants, the handicraft industry, and transportation services.
With its unique blend of heritage and cinematic grandeur, Rajasthan is poised to shine on the international stage as the perfect host for IIFA’s Silver Jubilee Edition.
