The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was formally inducted today as the designated aviation security agency at the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA). The induction marks a significant milestone in the airport’s journey towards operational readiness ahead of its commercial launch.

  • Shri Shailendra Bhatia, Nodal Officer NIAL;
  • Shri Sanjay Kataria, Regional Director, RO Delhi

CISF Assumes Aviation Security Mandate

  • Noida International Airport becomes the 70th airport in the country to come under CISF cover. The Airport Sector (APS) and Aviation Security Group (ASG) of CISF will oversee the airport’s security. Their mandate includes:
  • Perimeter and access control
  • Passenger and baggage screening
  • Terminal and landside security
  • Deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs)
  • Coordination with local law enforcement agencies

In the initial phase, a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO) will lead the deployment of 1,047 CISF personnel. The management will scale up deployment strength in accordance with operational needs as passenger traffic and flight operations increase.
