The Chamber of Indian Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME) has named BonV Aero a winner at the MSME Ratna Awards 2025.

The deep tech startup firm BonV Aero received the honour during an industry gathering attended by policymakers and banking leaders, following a selection process led by a jury of former chairmen from India’s state-owned banks and the judiciary.

The MSME Ratna Awards were established to track the progress of small businesses and startups contributing to India’s industrial targets. As the country seeks to expand its manufacturing base, the awards identify firms that demonstrate technical scale and operational resilience. BonV Aero, which develops heavy-lift electric aerial vehicles, was recognised for its work in the aerospace sector.

The Chief Guest of the event, Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, said, “MSMEs and banks are the inseparable twins of India’s economy. Their shared journey is not merely a commercial necessity, but a national imperative to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. When we empower our MSMEs today, we are building the corporate legends of tomorrow.”

“This award recognizes our work in developing electric platforms for cargo transport in difficult geographies,” said Satyabrata Satapathy, Chief Executive of BonV Aero. “Our focus remains on the engineering of systems that provide logistics support where ground infrastructure is limited.”

The judging panel, which included former heads of SIDBI, Punjab National Bank, and Canara Bank, evaluated nominees on their ability to transition from small-scale operations toward the larger corporate sector. The awards aim to foster a framework that enables startups to access the financial and regulatory networks necessary for growth.

Mukesh Mohan Gupta, President of CIMSME, noted the role of these enterprises in the broader economy. “We have institutionalized these awards to motivate entrepreneurs to scale their operations. The MSME sector serves as a primary engine for employment, and the participation of companies like BonV Aero is necessary for the vision of a developed India,” he said.

The MSME Ratna Award follows previous industry recognition for the company, including the Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers (SIDM) Award. These successive honours mark a period of sustained growth for BonV Aero as it moves from the prototype phase toward commercial deployment in the logistics and defense supply chains.
