Bird Academy, the education arm of the Bird Group, is an IATA accredited Regional Training Partner (RTP), is now inviting applications for a specialised IATA Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) course for Dangerous Goods Instructors scheduled from March 16–20, 2026, at its training centre in New Delhi. The five-day classroom programme will equip instructors with globally aligned competency-based training standards, helping them upskill within a short duration of time. Delivered by an official International Air Transport Association (IATA) instructor and aligned with IATA’s Dangerous Goods Training Guidance and DGR Section 1.5, the course will focus on building robust, CBTA-compliant training capabilities enhancing the instructional effectiveness of dangerous goods trainers, assessors and supervisors across aviation and logistics sectors.

The course is recommended for dangerous goods instructors, trainers, assessors, supervisors and organisations seeking IATA CBTA Center certification. Participants are required to have completed a relevant dangerous goods training programme and hold a valid certification. The last date to register for this program is February 28th, 2026. This course will help participants gain hands-on expertise in planning and delivering competency-focused training sessions, using active learning techniques and structured methodologies. The programme will cover adult learning principles, communication and facilitation strategies, and the design and development of CBTA-based dangerous goods curricula.

Spanning 40 hours over five days, the course will enable professionals to apply regulatory frameworks through a CBTA approach, implement competency-based assessment strategies, and enhance the effectiveness of dangerous goods training programmes across the aviation ecosystem. Upon successful completion, attendees will receive an IATA Certificate of Completion valid for 24 months. A distinction will be awarded to participants scoring 90 percent or higher, while a minimum score of 80 percent is required for certification.
