The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Mumbai Office, in collaboration with the Krabi Hotel Association, recently wrapped a successful two-city roadshow, spotlighting Krabi for Indian travellers across leisure and MICE segments. The events in Bengaluru (29 October) and Mumbai (31 October) connected 14 of Krabi’s leading hotels, resorts, DMCs, and IndiGo Airlines with a curated group of India’s top travel planners.

The roadshow aimed to deepen Thailand’s long-standing partnership with the Indian travel trade
and introduce them to Krabi of today, a destination that has elegantly expanded from its famous
beaches and islands into a hub for luxury seekers, honeymooners, and high-impact MICE and
wedding groups.

The events opened with welcome remarks and insights from Mr. Nattachit Oonsiam, Director of the
TAT Mumbai Office, and Ms. Kasmaporn Limpanapongthep, President of the Krabi Hotel Association.
Both emphasised Krabi’s readiness and enthusiasm for the Indian traveller, underscoring its unique
blend of raw natural beauty and sophisticated infrastructure perfectly suited for all traveller
segments.

In both cities, conversations quickly moved beyond the pristine postcard images to the practical
opportunities for Indian travellers: curated experiences, exclusive property updates, and a shared
focus on the value-driven, experiential travel that Indian tourists now actively seek.

A central theme during the roadshow was the significant upgrade in air access to Krabi. The recent
introduction of IndiGo’s direct flights from both Bengaluru and Mumbai to this Andaman gem, has
placed it within easy reach and is expected to fuel demand from both leisure and corporate
segments.

The evenings witnessed lively networking, one-on-one B2B meetings, and a vibrant exchange of
ideas that promise to translate into bespoke itineraries for Indian tourists.

This roadshow did more than just showcase a destination; it signalled a strategic push. By
highlighting Krabi’s evolving profile, TAT demonstrated a forward-looking tourism strategy for
Thailand, one that champions regional diversity, invests in sustainable growth, and leverages
enhanced connectivity to open new doors for collaboration with the Indian travel trade.
